Lake George Boating Accident Leads to Child Fatalities

Posted on Jun 11, 2009

According to the Orlando News, 3 children were killed in a boating accident when a 21ft vessel capsized due to a severe storm front that came through Lake George in Florida on Sunday May 24th.  Dennon Clayton Lennon, 4, and Ciara Puskus, 14, were killed when they were trapped inside the cabin of the capsized vessel.  Five year old Cole Bizuk was rushed to the Orlando hospital but died shortly thereafter. All of the children were wearing life jackets at the time of the accident. Authorities said the storm came without warning and was so severe that they received reports about 3 other boating accidents in the area involving a total of 29 people.

Anytime someone’s kid dies or gets harmed it’s a tragedy. Get your sons and daughters swimming lessons so that they will have the best chances of surviving an accident at a pool or on the water.  Family boating deaths can be prevented with everyone learning about what to do if a problem arises.
