Young Marine Killed By Potential Drunk Driver

It always saddens me to learn that one of our brave men or women in uniform has passed away.  But it is even more tragic when one of our armed forces dies at home in an auto accident.

Last week a local marine was killed when the vehicle he was a passenger in lost control after the driver over-steered to compensate for a bend in the road. The driver was also killed, and three Marines in the back seat were severely injured after the vehicle flipped several times just outside the marine corp. base in New River, North Carolina (NC), reports The Local Daily.

Investigators say speed and alcohol may have contributed to the wreck.  The incident remains under investigation.

It is a terrible shame that the driver of this vehicle put the lives of his passengers at risk and our thoughts go out to the family of this young marine.  It's so frustrating to hear about these kinds of fatal car crashes where the driver was potentially intoxicated. This accident may have been prevented if the at-fault driver had exercised some responsibility

When our clients or their family members are injured (or killed) by acts of a drunk driver/drunk driving, there are numerous special circumstances that our personal injury lawyers will examin

Many people will mourn his loss and already there were several web comments posted on the story:

"God has another angel in uniform, Thank You Will for your service in the United States Marine Corp. I will pray for comfort and peace for your family during this sad time. "

North Carolina is a state with one of the largest number of motor vehicle crash fatalities in U.S.-this type DUI/DWI crash makes us realize why.
