A 7-year-old girl was sledding on Brandon Oaks Parkway in Indian Trail, North Carolina (NC) when she crossed a sidewalk onto the road and was hit by a van.
Reports indicate the young girl suffered serious injuries and is being treated at the Carolinas Medical Center, according to wscoctv.com.
There are a myriad of questions surrounding this awful pedestrian accident. Did the driver of the van see the girl as she sled out onto the road? Was the driver distracted in some way and failed to stop in time? We'll have to wait and see what the accident report reveals.
I'm pulling for this young girl and hope she survives. It is heartbreaking to think that her life may be changed forever due to this incident.
