The victim was actively petitioning for a crosswalk on the very road where she was hit. Her family is going to continue her efforts after they have had time to grieve. We send our deepest sympathies to the family.

Unfortunately, crosswalk accidents occur far too often, and the injuries suffered by victims can be severe enough to lead to loss of life. If a crosswalk accident results in death and the driver of the vehicle was distracted, speeding or violated the law in some way, there may be grounds for filing a wrongful death lawsuit.

To learn about what damages can be pursued in a wrongful death suit, take a look at this article written by a wrongful death attorney in North Carolina.
