In what can only be described as a freak accident, a Wake County woman suffered fatal injuries when an oak tree crashed through her roof and crushed her while she was asleep in her bed. In addition to her death, two others were injured by the tree as the roof collapsed on them.
ABC News Channel -WTVD reported that 32 year old Sabrina Allen was sleeping in her cousin's home when tragedy struck. The home's location was southeast of Raleigh, North Carolina in Wake County near Rock Quarry Road.
Along with Allen, both Wayne and Keyona Vick were in the house when the large tree toppled onto their house around 6 p.m. Allen had no chance of survival as her body took the full brunt of the massive oak tree's weight; it crushed her almost instantly despite her brother's heroic attempt to move the tree off of her.
We are never prepared when someone dies that is dear to us, although we do not know the family we pray for them them and hope that Sabrina's six year old daughter that she left behind gets only the best care. Authorities from the City/County Bureau of Investigation and Wake County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting a full probe into the deadly incident.
