Van Driver and Passenger Seriously Injured in Head-On Collision in Union County, NC

A 25-year-old motorcyclist who attempted to outrun law enforcement in Union County, North Carolina ended up in a head-on collision and later died from his injuries, according to WBTV.

The motorcyclist traveled westbound on Newtown Road in excess of 100 mph. A sheriff's deputy spotted him and flashed his blue lights in an attempt to stop the motorcycle. Instead of stopping, the motorcyclist weaved around cars to get away from the deputy, and then crossed the center line and ran head-on into a van traveling west.

After crashing into the van, the motorcyclist was ejected from the motorcycle and airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. He was pronounced dead that night. The driver and passenger in the van suffered serious injuries. Both were transported to Carolinas Medical Center-Union.

If the North Carolina wreck was the fault of anyone, the family of the injured van driver and passenger might have to file a wrongful death case with the assistance of NC personal injury lawyers against the motorcyclist's estate or other responsible parties to obtain justice for the loss suffered.
