Comments (0)

What Happened:

One driver was killed in a major truck accident on Highway 74/76 in Columbus County, North Carolina.

The North Carolina Highway Patrol stated that one tractor trailer veered off the road and smashed into two other parked tractor trailers. One of the drivers that was parked was trapped in his truck and died. The accident happened near Lake Waccamaw.

No other injuries were reported, and the investigation is continuing.

North Carolina Personal Injury Lawyer Perspective:

Tragic accidents such as this one are a grim reminder of the importance of watching the road at all times while driving. It also is very important to be well rested and to not use cell phones or change the radio while driving. Any distraction from the road can lead to tragedy.

We send our best wishes and condolences to the family of the victim. We also suggest that the victim’s family should determine, with the help of an experienced personal injury attorney, if a wrongful death lawsuit may be filed in this case. The family could be eligible for financial restitution for their pain and suffering, as well as for funeral expenses.
