The Ford was driven by Jason Leonard, 40 of Cool Ridge, North Carolina (N.C.). Leonard spun out of control due to the impact which subsequently crashed into another northbound vehicle driven by Steven Smith, 34. Leonard and Smith were immediately taken to the local hospital by first responders. There were no indications of their condition at the time of this writing. It appears that the driver of the pickup truck, Fleets, will be cited for failure to maintain control of his vehicle as well as driving with a suspended license.

In addition to obeying traffic laws, a driver should make sure at the very minimum that their engine, brakes, and tires are all in good condition.
