Surfside, SC Accident Injuries Six
An accident at Glenns Bay Road and Highway 17 bypass in Surfside, South Carolina (SC), on Wednesday, April 20, 2011, has left six people injured. All were taken to the hospital for medical treatment that same day after a three-car pileup occurred at the aforesaid intersection. According to SC Highway Patrol representative Sonny Collins, the SC auto accident happened around 1 p.m. that afternoon when a vehicle ran a red light and struck another vehicle. The second vehicle was turning on Glenns Bay Road, and hit a third car.
It's amazing how just one irresponsible driver can cause suffering for so many. Always come to a complete stop at red lights. If the light is already turning yellow, or you think that you won't make it, don't try to run the light. It's always better to arrive at your destination a few minutes later than to risk your life and health, in addition to the well-being of those around you.
