Pascal Limouzine was hit by a car on Banks Mill Road in Aiken, South Carolina (SC). Most people would stop if they accidentally hit someone. Unfortunately, that did not happen in this accident. The at-fault driver bolted the scene and left Mr. Limouzine in the middle of the road.
Fortunately, with the help of tips from the public, the at-fault driver was apprehended. It turns out the at-fault driver has reportedly been involved in five car accidents in the past six years, according to the Augusta Chronicle. Although he wasn't arrested for any of the collisions, the at-fault driver was held responsible in each accident.
Mr. Limouzine is still in the hospital with serious injuries. The hit and run accident occurred on January 23rd, so Mr. Limouzine may have already lost a week's worth of pay from his job, and may have lost a week of time he could have spent with his family. Unfortunately, that lost time continues to accrue as he recuperates in the hospital.
Could Mr. Limouzine's injuries been lessened if the at-fault driver actually stopped and provided some form of assistance? No one can say for sure, but it bears repeating that if you hit someone, stop and help. Being the culprit of hit and run accident is not only morally reprehensible, it is also illegal.
