North Carolina Motorcyclist Injured After Driver Fails To Yield Right-Of-Way

Comments (0)

A motorcyclist in Wilmington, NC has been hospitalized following a dangerous wreck with a passenger vehicle. According to police, the motorcyclist, 23-year-old James Gray, was driving northbound on South Kerr Avenue in Wilmington when another vehicle pulled out directly in front of him heading southbound.

Police say that Gray had nowhere to go and ended up crashing into the front of the other car. He was then thrown from his motorcycle over the hood of the car breaking his arm and sustaining a variety of other injuries.

Police say they have charged the driver of the other vehicle with failure to yield right-of-way and that they are continuing to investigate the accident.

Sadly, accidents like this one are far from rare as motorcycle crashes claim thousands of lives each year. According to the Centers for Disease Control, between 2001 and 2008, more than 34,000 motorcyclists were killed on the nation’s roadways.

If you were injured in a North Carolina car, motorcycle or truck accident caused by another driver, it’s critical that you turn to an experienced attorney for help. My firm has successfully represented clients injured in such motorcycle wrecks before. In one case, my firm was able to secure a $450,000 award for a client who was injured in an accident while riding his Harley to a nearby convenience store.

If your or a loved one has been seriously injured in a North Carolina (NC) or Virginia (VA) motorcycle accident and you want to learn more about your legal rights and possible options for pursing a claim against the responsible party, read through my firm’s car accident injury guide, which provides some important information about such claims.

It also might be helpful for those injured in a NC motorcycle accident to check out my firm’s answers to some frequently asked questions regarding auto accident claims. For instance, you may be wondering what types of damages an injured person can recover or how you can go about calculating and recovering money for lost wages.
