NC Girl Killed In Train Accident In Kinston

A train accident in Jones County still leave unanswered questions according to DigTriad.com. A 13-year-old girl from Kinston, North Carolina, was hit and killed by an oncoming train after falling asleep on the tracks.

Damaris Guzman allegedly ran away from home with her cousin on Wednesday night, became tired, and fell asleep on the railroad tracks. The conductor of the train never saw the bodies in the tracks and did not break or stop - their bodies were found an hour after the accident. Guzman was killed by the train accident, though her cousin survived with serious injuries.

Ditrict Attorney Dewey Hudson said that the fatal train accident was still under investigation, as it is not known why the children would not have woken up when the train was approaching - or why they would have fallen asleep on the tracks to begin with.
