NC Accident Kills 1, Injuries 3

This winter, in addition to obeying all the usual traffic laws and regulations, it's important to take extra precaution when driving over snow, ice, and slush. When you don't, take a look at the terrible consequences that can result.

A Walkertown, North Carolina (NC) car accident killed one person and sent three others to the hospital on Jan 11th, 2011, late in the morning.

The Forsyth County wreck occurred at 11:44 a.m., according to the NC Highway Patrol, who responded to the accident. A PT Cruiser was driving too fast for the slushy conditions on the 5400 block of Old Walkertown Road, and crossed into oncoming traffic. The Cruiser was then hit by a Dodge van; the front side passenger of the Cruiser was killed.

Two injured victims were taken to Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center on Tuesday, where they were both listed as having serious conditions. One other victim--Edward Redmon-was taken to Forsyth Medical Center, where he was treated and released that same day.

Although many drivers who cause accidents attempt to blame the weather conditions, the legal truth of the matter is that they are expected to drive carefully enough to avoid a collision, no matter what the circumstances.
If they don't, and you are the victim of a crash that results, contact our law firm to discuss your case. While we can't guarantee that we will be able to handle your claim, we will do our best to assess your odds of obtaining compensation and justice.
