Motorcyclist Loses Life Following Crash in Spartanburg, SC

According to the Herald-Journal, former Clemson University wide receiver James Wofford was riding his motorcycle and wearing a helmet when a car made a right-hand turn into his path. He died from injuries at a local hospital shortly after the collision.
The newspaper reported that police were continuing to investigate what caused the crash. As Carolina personal injury and wrongful death attorneys, we can be pretty sure that one of the causes was either that the car's driver failed to watch for motorcyclists before entering the intersection, or did scan for oncoming vehicles but failed to see Wofford on his bike. Whichever scenario played out, the result was the same: A 34-year-old husband and father lost his life in an accident that likely could have been avoided by keeping a better watch out or exercising more caution.
We send our condolences to Wofford's friends and family members.
