The North Carolina Personal Injury Lawyers’ Perspective

When a motorcycle accident occurs with a vehicle that is attempting a left turn, the injuries and damages can be catastrophic.  Most motorcycle accidents are caused by inattentive drivers who don't see motorcyclists. The law recognizes that a left turn is a dangerous maneuver, because the left turning vehicle enters lanes of traffic for other vehicles. Every state has a statute to discuss left turns that may read similar to this Virginia statute, “The driver of a vehicle, intending to turn left within an intersection or into an alley, private road, or driveway shall yield the right-of-way to any vehicle approaching from the opposite direction if it is so close as to constitute a hazard.” However, after many motorcycle accidents, the insurance company representing the other driver will try to find a way to blame the accident on the biker. It’s commonly thought bikers are risk takers who speed and weave in and out of traffic. Our personal injury lawyers understand that one rotten apple doesn’t ruin the bunch. If you have been involved in a North Carolina (NC) motorcycle accident you should not wait to contact an experienced motorcycle accident lawyer, this will allow for the best possibility of recovering medical expenses, property damage, and lost wages.
