A tanker truck carrying fuel collided with a car on U.S. Highway 401 at Fuller Road in Louisburg, North Carolina seriously injuring all four people in the car, according to a WRAL report last week. Troopers said that the tanker ended up southbound in the northbound lane and crashed into the car, pinning all of its occupants inside.
Troopers have not released any further information on the cause of the accident, but we hope all of the injured parties are able to make a full recovery.
There have been several highly publicized crashes involving commercial trucks in the news lately. Almost a year ago, a driver in a Wal-Mart truck crashed into a vehicle carrying comedian Tracy Morgan and his entourage. One person was killed and three were injured. Morgan was hospitalized for several weeks after the accident and is still in recovery according to his attorney. This accident and the aftermath allowed the public to see up close what truck accident lawyers see day in and day out, that the effects of truck accidents go far beyond the damage you see on the road. Truck accidents can result in long-term and even life-threatening injuries. Statistics show that fatal truck accidents happen 11 times per day in the United States and result in over 4,000 deaths per year.
