Jillian Rose Charlet Killed In Wreck In Winston-Salem

Comments (0)
A former women’s basketball player at Winston-Salem State University lost her life in a car accident. It was very early in the morning – around 4:30am – when the driver of the vehicle that Jillian was riding in lost control on Cherry Street near Reynolds Park Road. As a result, the driver crashed into a utility pole and Jillian was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her roommate - a 21 year old female - along with another victim were taken to Baptist Hospital with injuries, according to WFMY News 12.

It’s so frustrating reading about tragic accidents caused by a driver who failed to maintain control of their vehicle. We do not know at this time whether the driver was intoxicated, distracted, or if there was a mechanical issue. We will have to wait and see what the accident report reveals.

If it turns out that the driver was negligent in operating the vehicle, the surviving family should speak with a wrongful death lawyer in North Carolina to discuss their legal options. The other victim, the 21-year-old roommate who suffered injuries should also consult with an attorney.

To learn more about what types of damages are recoverable through a wrongful death or personal injury claim, take a moment to read this
