The driver injured in the hit and run car accident was taken to a local North Carolina (NC) hospital. His condition has not been reported at this time. The driver of the green sedan fled the scene of the accident and police are asking anyone with possible information to contact them immediately.
Hit and run accidents are all too common in North Carolina. According to state law, all vehicles involved in an accident are required to stop and provide proper identification before returning to the roadway. Any driver that leaves the scene of a car accident can be liable for a class C misdemeanor, reckless driving charges, or even vehicular murder charges depending on the severity of the accident.
Unfortunately, locating a hit and run driver is often difficult and several hit and run cases are left unsolved. This leaves the victim left to handle insurance claims and medical bills on their own. A personal injury attorney can help settle your claim with the insurance company and get you the compensation you need for medical bills, missed time from work, pain and suffering.
