Fiery Four-Vehicle Crash On Pee Dee Bridge Leaves Two Dead And Others Injured

Highway 76 in Florence, South Carolina, was the scene of a deadly SC truck accident last week. The fiery four-vehicle accident took place on the Great Pee Dee River Bridge and involved two cars, a dump truck, and an 18-wheeler.

South Carolina Highway Patrol confirmed that two people died at the scene of the accident while a number of others were injured in the South Carolina truck accident. Those killed in the crash were 36-year-old Curtis Johnson and his daughter 13-year-old Crystal A. Johnson. The South Carolina Multidisciplinary Accident Investigation Team is investigating the cause of the accident.

After the initial collision, the big rig, which was carrying paper products, burst into flames. Reports also indicated that the tractor-trailer reignited while it was being hauled away from the scene of the crime. The eastbound and westbound lanes of US-76 between Marion County and Florence County were closed for several hours following the Carolina truck accident.
