High Point Police reported that the man, Danneil Davis, backed his vehicle onto the tracks that evening, which was then struck by an oncoming westbound train. The impact of the train-car crash caused the car to slide into a nearby pedestrian, 21-year-old Kevin Boyd.
Boyd was rushed by emergency workers to Wake Forest University Baptist Hospital, where he died from his critical injuries. Davis has been charged with driving with a revoked license, an inspection violation, obstructing the movement of a train and a safe movement violation.
High Point authorities report that no one else in the car or train, including the driver, Davis, were injured in the accident.
